Our New Home!

To make a long story short, Pat and I survived our move from California to Washington. We definitely couldn't have done it without the help of my parents or Seth. Thank you! I don't want to dwell on the tediousness of the move, so instead I'd like to skip over the process of the move and show you our new place! We are feeling pretty settled and are really loving the new area where we are living. There are trees everywhere and while we are living in a pretty big complex, it feels like a nice community area. I look forward to taking advantage of what the area has to offer. Apparently Redmond is the biking capital of Washington (or something like that)!

So, here is the view from the front door. To the left is the staircase, but that picture was incredibly boring, so I will spare you!

There is this weird little cut-out right when you walk in that we decided to make into a little picture nook. Now, I'm loving it! The door that you see here leads to the garage. That's still a work in progress!

Here is the view of our living room from the hallway. I love the fireplace (and will love being able to use it this fall/winter)!

A close up of the mantle. The sign was a wedding gift and I just love the saying, "Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be." It's nice having a place to showcase it now.

Here is the view of the living room from the dining room. It's so nice to have that little bookcase area. Not only are we able to display some of our books, but it gives us a place for our games and pet toys (although soon Quinn's toys will take over) as well! :)

Dining room.

Our kitchen.

Now, imagine walking up the stairs...

Our bedroom (the view from the door). You can see into the bathroom a little on the right.

The view from that bathroom (except the pack n play isn't in the picture). Imagine that at the foot of the bed. :)

The little angel actually sleeping (which is why I was able to finally take these photos).

The view from my side of the bed. :) We realized that no matter how much shelf space we have, there is never enough!

Our bathroom! This is the biggest bathroom I've ever had and at first it seemed too big. After being here for a couple of weeks I must admit, having the space in there has been pretty nice!

The linen closet... I decided to change it into shoe storage. So fun!

A walk-in closet! We're in heaven (since neither one of us is particularly skilled at purging)!

The hallway. Our bedroom is the door on the far right. The stairs are on the far left, and the washer/dryer is hidden in the doors that you see on the left. To the right is another closet. This photo was taken from Quinn's bathroom.

Pat's work space. This photo was taken from Quinn's room.

Quinn's room.

The crib wall will be the "scene wall". We will paint it sky blue and Pat will repaint the mural that he had painted at our old place. Then, this room will be complete!

The wall where the mural will be.

Another weird little nook that we didn't know what to do with, that is until we decided to make it a little play nook for Quinn. His toys are being stored in what used to be our coffee table. I was happy to be able to find a use for that furniture since there was no way it was going to fit in the living room.

Another walk-in, for Quinn!

The view from the closet. You can see the "nook" a little better here.

Quinn's bathroom. The decor isn't complete in here yet...

Quinn's personalized towels. Thanks Sally!

And that completes the tour! We still need to finish organizing the garage and figure out what to do with the downstairs bathroom. But, considering we haven't been here long, I'm feeling pretty good about what has been accomplished. It's definitely feeling like home here which helps make the transition easier for me!

  1. I love your place. You have done an amazing job with so little time and little Quinn. By the way, he is just too precious. We will have to get together on one of our summer jaunts over there for the red sox mariners games.
