Hawaii Part I: Kira Met Sand

We're back from our Hawaiian vacation and it was wonderful, as expected.  The moment we landed in Kona I was reminded of the culture that I fell in love with during college.  Everyone we encountered was exceptionally kind and generous.   I told Pat we'd be living there someday.  We'll see what the future holds.

Sadly, I feel like I don't have many great photos to capture our time on the Big Island, though not for a lack of trying.  I just can't seem to take a crisply focused picture these days.  It's so frustrating, but I'm inspired to keep practicing.  Luckily, Shelby took a bunch and so the vacation will not go undocumented.

As I was looking through some of the photos that I do have, I noticed a common theme among all of the beach pictures with Kira.  The girl loves sand.  The girl loves eating.  And let me tell you, the girl tried eating sand nearly every second she spent on the beach.
Pat was much better at trying to keep her sand eating to a minimum.  I, on the other hand, simply embraced it and snapped away.
Swimming suits for infants are too cute to pass up.  This ensemble was probably my favorite.  Great find, Auntie Jamie!
It's a miracle!  No sand on her face, and on the beach!  I love how she looks like she's up to no good in this picture. She's undoubtedly scheming how to get away from daddy so she can inhale more sand.
 I hope you enjoy!
Stay tuned for more (blurry) glimpses of our time in paradise.

  2. You're being too critical. You captured lots of beautiful pictures. So many fun memories. Kira is the happiest baby I've ever met. So, so sweet! Kiss her for me. Miss her BIG time!
